Diocesan Golder Jubilee

On May 28th 2015, Arundel and Brighton Diocese celebrates it's Golden Jubilee

Bishope Kieran has expressed the clear aim:

"By 2015, we the people of the diocese will better understand who we are and what we are called to do, and that, in turn, we will bring about real change in the communities in which we live."

But what does this mean and how can we achieve it?

The anniversary of Arundel and Brighton coincides with the 50th anniversary of the closing of the Second Vatican Council. The council was opened in October 1952 and met in the Autumn for the following three years.

We are invited to follow this pattern and meet, pray reflect in parishes, house groups or individaully during the Autumn/Winter for the next three years. Our focus will be to consider four of the Constitutions produced by Vatican II.

2012 Worship – Sacred Liturgy Sacrosanctum Concilium
2013 Word – Revelation Dei Verbum
2014 Communion – Church Lumen Gentium
2015 Mission – Church in the Modern World Gaudium et Spes

It is hoped by studying these important Constitutions we will be better placed to achieve Bishop Kieran's aim for the diocese and our communities.

Small House Groups

Many thanks for the fantastic turnout at our Diocesan Jubilee Meeting on Wednesday 24th October. We have now formed 7 groups, with a total of 57 participants, which will meet fortnightly at various parishener's houses on the following days:

Monday 2.00pm
Tuesdays 7:30pm
Wednesday 9:30am and 7:30pm
Thursday 7:30pm

So if you were unable to attend the meeting and want to join a group that will cover the six sessions, please get in contact with us at rcahill14@gmail.com or 01372 728082.

We are also looking for some additional volunteers to host a group as so many parisheners are keen to take part. As a host you only need to welcome a small group of fellow parisheners to your house, and perhaps offer them a cup of tea! (all materials are provided and no knowledge of materials is required).
