RCIA PROGRAMME (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults)

This programme is widely used in many parishes throughout the Diocese and across the country. RCIA aims to help those who would like to know more about the Catholic Faith, and who might like to engage in the process of becoming a Catholic.

The course runs each year from September, and culminates at the Easter Vigil, when participants are received into the Church. There are approximately seven sessions before Christmas and eight after. Currently meetings are on Wednesday evenings. The meetings are relaxed and informal. There is normally a presentation and discussion on some aspect of the Catholic Faith, with references from the New and Old Testaments to support the discussion. There are also refreshments and a time for prayer.

If you are not a Catholic, but feel you might like to explore becoming one, why not get in touch with one of the clergy for an informal chat.
